On May 11th there was the UAE - Latvian business forum in Riga, organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA).
The mission of the business forum was to strengthen the existing business relations and build new ones. It must be said that the event has been a success, as Maris Dreimanis, the CEO of Vervo Middle East, has had a successful business meeting in Dubai with representatives who participated in the forum.
On May 24, 2022, Maris Dreimanis had a meeting with Faisal Jassem, the Senior Manager of Jafza to discuss business opportunities in the Jebel Ali area. Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) is a free economic zone located in the western end of Dubai, near Abu Dhabi. In the United Arab Emirates, there are around 40 free zones and Jafza is considered the largest free zone in the world.
During the meeting, Faisal Jassem introduced Maris with possibilities for Vervo Middle East in Jafza, which is a huge community with around 8700 companies representing industries such as logistics, warehousing, electronics, e-commerce, agriculture and many others. One of the biggest benefits of this zone is its location - Jafza is located between Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport, and that provides smooth multimodal connections between Asia, Europe and Africa.
Vervo Middle East is likely to be located in Jafza because all the possibilities there are, will be useful for our customers. For example, the port of Jebel Ali that is located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone is the ninth busiest port in the world and the busiest port in the Middle East. The port of Jebel Ali is a part of the Maritime Silk Road. It starts in China and runs through India to Mombasa. Further, it goes through the Red Sea, crosses the Suez Canal, and continues to the Mediterranean, and then to the Upper Adriatic region to the northern Italian hub of Trieste. It has rail connections to Central Europe, Eastern Europe, and the North Sea. This port provides ship transshipment, container customs clearance, warehousing, and other services.
We want to give our deepest appreciation to Faisal Jassem, the senior manager of Jafza. We already have received the instructions for the next steps and none of our questions are left without an answer. It is a pleasure doing business with them, and we are looking forward to our future partnership. As Maris said - the way business is done in the United Arab Emirates, especially in Jafza, is an example to entrepreneurs all around the world.
We are grateful for this opportunity to develop our company in the Middle East, as it benefits businesses that need international cargo shipping to and from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. We remind you that Maris will be in Dubai until the beginning of August, so we are open to cooperation at any time. Contact us and we will arrange a meeting in the UAE -
